AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) works to create a better future for children and the community.

AEDU- Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) is involved in multiple projects to help the children and families affected by war and Tsunami.

FOSTER CARE PROJECT
This programme intends to keep the children in the community with relatives or parent(s).
    This programme
  1. Prevents unnecessary institutionalisation of children.
  2. Prevents exploitation of children including child labour.
  3. Prevents school drop outs.
  4. Improves mental and physical well-being.
  5. Prevents psychological deprivation.
  6. Helps to continue schooling without interruption.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS:
Monthly financial assistance to undergraduate university students who are poor due to various reasons; these programme intents to prevents drop outs from higher education.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL DROP OUTS:
AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) is providing financial assistance to continue vocational education for the students who have completed A/L but not entered university and to students who have dropped out of school due to poverty and other reasons.

PROMOTING CHILD RIGHTS:
AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) members promote child rights in the community by various methods.

INCOME GENERATING PROGRAMME FOR WIDOWS:
AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) intends to provide income generating programmes for the families who have lost the bread-winners due to war, Tsunami or other reasons. This programme will help to keep the children with the mother and in the community.

HELPING REMOTE UNDERPRIVILEGED SCHOOL STUDENTS:
AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District) provides various assistances to school children in remote areas. This includes providing school bags, exercise books and books.
