Operational Policy

AEDU-Sri Lanka is functioning independently as voluntary organisation with separate committees within the boundaries of each district. (AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District, AEDU- Sri Lanka (Trincomalee District and AEDU-Sri Lanka (Amparai District). The voluntary members are dedicated and they have long standing professional and personal tract record in Sri Lanka. They are functioning according to the standards and the protocols set by AEDU-International.

Formulating and implementing projects are based on the ground situation and are solely depend on AEDU-Sri Lanka. Monitoring the foster care programme is being done by the members of AEDU-Sri Lanka. Funding organisations or donors are not allowed to involve in monitoring or implementing the foster care programme. AEDU- Sri Lanka has an efficient mechanism to see that the funds are reaching the children and the affected family and are being used properly. AEDU-in Sri Lanka will only receive funds from those who accept the principles and high ethical values adopted by AEDU-Sri Lanka. Money can not be handed over to the members of AEDU-Sri Lanka as cash by individuals and funding organisations. Cheque can be written in favour of AEDU-Sri Lanka (AEDU-Sri Lanka (Batticaloa District),AEDU-Sri Lanak (Tincomalee District) AEDU-Sri Lanka (Amparai District)– each have separate bank accounts) and the receipt should be obtained from the officer in charge of finances in order to maintain the credibility of the members and to maintain a proper transparent financial system. All financial transactions will go through the bank. Money can not be given by hand to children or their families at any time. Money deposited to AEDU-Sri Lanka Branches will be deposited or directly debited to the beneficiary's account from the respective accounts of AEDU-Sri Lanka.

AEDU-Sri Lanka will provide adequate documents to the donors or the funding organisations.

AEDU-Sri Lanka will not entertain any unethical and immoral actions adopted by some substandard organisations or charity in Sri Lanka or abroad in order to satisfy the donors or donor organisations. AEDU-International discourages unnecessary exposure of children and it will publish materials in this website to promote the vision of the AEDU-International only after taking adequate care.

This operational policy will help to safeguard the confidentiality and dignity of the children and follow the child protection policy. Our operational policy is adopted from the working experiences of members of AEDU-Sri Lanka with children and vulnerable people.
